      Waltham Bench Miller
      Waltham Home Page

Listed by the Waltham Machine Tool Works (using an odd turn of phrase) as a "Milling Stand", their horizontal miller utilised not only the headstock but also the compound slide rest from one of their precision bench lathes. The knee could be fitted with either quick-action lever or screw-operated feed. Designed as a very high-quality, precision machine tool it was constructed along lines similar to those by AmesAmerican Watch Tool, CataractStark, Pratt & WhitneyRivettSloan & Chace and Stark where the head from one of their "Bench Precision" lathes was employed  in a similar manner.
