      Waldrich Planers Page 2

Founded in 1840 by Heinrich Adolf Waldrich as MaschinenfabrikH.A. in Siegen, today the company still thrives as part of the Herkules Group and still specialises in its long-established market, the manufacture of especially massive machine tools. Typical products in past decades have included high-speed and roll-turning lathes, roll grinders, slideway grinders, ingot working machines, ingot tuning lathes, ingot slicing machines combination planing and grinding machines, double-column planers, opensided planers and rail planing machines. Today the range is still much the same with milling, grinding and texturing machines available together with horizontal and vertical lathes.
Reproduced below is a sales catalogue dating, it is believed, from the early 1930s that has been amusingly touched up by graphic artists to include numbers of extra phantom workers to emphasise the sheer size and weight of the planning machines it illustrates. The lower down the page you go, the larger the machines become with pages of text, technical descriptions and tables models together with their specifications, in German, towards the end.
