Very rare - only one has so far come to light - the beautiful little Benson hand-operated shaper stood just 13 inches high, 11-inches deep and 8-inches wide. It's working capacity was similarly tiny, with only 2-inches of travel on every movement--stroke, lateral and tool slide. In this respect it was smaller even than the very common and popular (and doubtless far less expensive) Adept No. 1. Neat touches included superbly turned parts on the lever mechanism, a wooden handgrip and a double clamp on the toolpost.
